RAC means you have a guaranteed right to board the train and travel, but you will share a side-lower berth with another passenger until seats open up.

If passengers with confirmed tickets cancel before chart preparation, RAC passengers are automatically upgraded to full confirmed berths in sequence. Even if not upgraded, you are legally entitled to travel on board.

Helpful Tips:

RAC passengers are eligible to board the train.
Check your PNR 4 hours before departure when charts are prepared for your final coach/berth allocation.
